In general, to be more happy.
Not that I’m not already, but who wouldn’t wanna make their lives better?
Which of course, includes – more time for family & good friends and make them happy, more money, more knowledge, better abilities, realising my dreams and achieving my goals.
This is a video done for my Graphic User Interface Design module’s Assignment.
It shows how a user tests out the device, which in this case, is a DVD Player Remote Controller.
There are hiccups along the way, but I guess this will help in my analysis and also suggestions on how to improve its usability. =)
CD-ROM is part of the Media Type category, in which video, full-colour graphics, high-quality sound and applications/programs can be stored inside for users to access. CD-ROM is a convenient way of storing data as CD-ROM can be easily read and commonly accessed through any computers and video systems.
What are some application of CD-ROM title design? Eg. Educational. Bring examples, if any.
Education/Learning, Games, Movies, Music & Videos, Application Installation, Professional Portfolio, School Assignments/Projects, User Guides for Applications, Personal Experiences.
What are the differences between website design and CD-ROM title design?
The differences lie in the rendering speed, graphics, information quality, storage space, content and applications used to access its content.
Usually web design requires better quality and better designed graphics as web design is often viewed in a higher resolution than CD-ROM title design. CD-ROM has more direct content and more limited navigation compared to web design which can be more interactive and complicated. Web design naturally needs the World Wide Web to view while CD-ROM can be accessed not just through the web or computer but through sound/video systems e.g. hi-fi radio system.
A good experience to me means it has to be fun and interactive. I must feel involved personally and emotionally.
My first good experience i wanna share is my participation in my CCA
- a dance group named Foreign Bodies in NYP.
This is a performance for NYP Open House in 2008. I was still a junior in my dance group and this was a big performance to me as we have to display a vibrant, positive image of the school as well as our own dance group to attract future students who wish to enroll into NYP.
I personally put in alot of efforts into this performance’s practices. We often practice till late at night, leaving school at 11pm+ is a mundane thing. Juggling both studies and cca, this is a good experience as it allows me to learn how to balance my life while still forking time out to enjoy and have fun. Dancing helps me to relax and I love to be performing on stage!
A group photo of all performers taken after the performance.
Me and my girls in the girls’ dance item. All dressed in hot red!
And this is a photo of me during the performance, taken by a photographer in NYP.
Below is the video of my item, the quality is bad but it still brings me good memories!
2nd experience will be playing with my game console – Nintendo DS Lite. (NDS)
It helps me to kill time and provide entertainment for me when I’m bored, plus NDS also allows me to play games with my friends who has the same console! This helps to bond the friendship between me an my friends and also give us good memories and a good laugh, thus providing a good experience.
Feel free to leave comments please! Share with me if you have similar experiences too!
What is web application?
A web application is usually an application which is accessed through a web browser via a network, such as Internet. A web application is coded with browser-supported language (such as HTML, javascript, etc) and needs a common web browser to render it. Web applications are popular as they can be found commonly and
conveniently in the Internet. They are easy to update and maintain, thus making them popular to use. As quoted from Wikipedia, ‘Common web applications include webmail, online retail sales, online auctions, wikis and many other functions.’
What is the difference between webdesign and web application? The main difference is that web design actually focuses on the style and arrangment of how the web site layout wll look like visually, along with user-friendly function; wheras web application focuses on making these functionalities work as well as creating interactive web components for users.
Technically, web designers need to focus on the visual aspects of a web site – colors, graphics, layout arrangements, etc. They need to be equipped with only basic knowledge of the coding of the website, but that is not their main focus. However, for web developers, they have to focus on the functionality and programming, coding and optimization of the web sites more.
The difference between web design and development may be many, but they both must go hond in hadn for any website to function well and look good.
How do you find this site? (in 3 words) Unattractive, boring, simple
Who do you think the site is created for?
For regular customers who wish to find out the terms and conditions, location and other forms of contacting the shop.
What are the good attributes of the site (in terms of usability, aesthetic issues, etc)? The website’s navigation is very easy to understand, users will not be misleaded as the only main navigation is obvious on the top part of the website.
The information is straightforward and easy to understand.
What are the bad attributes of the site? The limited choices in navigation in turn gives users limited control over what they wish to find out, they are unable to choose as there are not even many options to choose from.
Information is too simplified. Does not introduce the shop in details and explain what products they are selling. The whole website layout is also too simple and will not attract customers to purchase products. It gives a very sloppy image of the company as the website looks like there is not much effort put in to create it.
